More and more visitors become residents of Downtown Statesville, falling in love with the charm, the history, and the people in this community. It is easy to stroll the wide sidewalks, take in the public art, and eat distinctive and delectable food. There is always something fun going on-live music at unique venues, historic reenactments, community theater, bike races, etc. The year is filled with events like Art Crawl, Wine Walk, summer concerts, Beer Festival, Pumpkin Fest, and an old-fashioned Christmas town, complete with horse-drawn carriages and Victorian carolers. Downtown Statesville even hosts Full Bloom Film Festival, an international film festival that draws directors and guests from all over the country and the world. Over the years, we have seen buildings renovated, the streetscape completed, empty storefronts filled with life, increased foot traffic, and the desire for downtown residential property. We hope to continue this trend by assisting property owners in rehabilitating their buildings and focusing on art, culture and diversity, making Downtown Statesville a destination city. Those of us lucky enough to live here in Statesville continue to dream big things for our little town. We have come so far, but there is still much to do.
